Sustainability project
The remake resign project, was a sustainability focused project which we presented in the Knit &Stitch show 2019.
My project was based on upcyscling a jumper I got in a charity shop with a focus on biomimicry within the design. I wanted this jumper to transitional and grow with movement. I did this by opening up the sides of the jumper and attaching knitted pieces, that when the arms raised it expanded and showed the leaf motif through the laddering. I then hand embroidered loops onto the base of the jumper to show a sense of growth kind of like moss and then machine embroidered leaf motifs not the top front of the jumper
Sketchbook
With my sketchbook I looked at classic pieces of knitwear like Kurt Cobain's torn jumpersLooking at Biomimicry to see how it can influence my design work through growth and then developed design work by using a coqui template and photocopying my textiles

Process work
With the loops on the base of the jumper, I used green linen yarn to create loops and show growth from this
I started by knitting off long pieces of around 250 rows starting from just 4 needles and expanding it to 80 needles, moving the laddering in different ways to create a very organic and natural design to the knitted pieces.
Stand Work
I worked on the the stand to find correct placement and see how the piece moved and grew when the arm was lifter or just as it moves.
When deciding what way to style my jumper piece, I created a very full tulle skirt made from strips of light blue tulle added onto an elastic waistband and styled it with the the jumper out ofver the skirt
